Shephard's pie is awesome! I make it a lot during the winter. I still make most of these.
Which of these you miss the most? Let me know your favorite..
I love Roasted Duck. Too expensive. We eat Shephard's Pie, Salisbury Steak , Stuffed Pork Chops, often. Ham with Pineapple is served at most Easter Meals. Not ours because I can't stand PINEAPLLE. LOL
I love Crab Louis. Surf and Turf is popular is many restaurants around us. I love Fondue. Absolutely love it. We have it a few times a year. Especially between Thanksgiving and New Years Eve. Tuna Noodle Casseroles are still very popular. I was surprised at a lot of these because you see them.
Love Cordon Bleu. Thanks for explaining how these foods are made.
I'm still eating most of these. I buy Salisbury Steak all the time and get chicken Cordon at Aldi's.
A couple of the veal dishes are still made but with chicken instead of veal. Some of them can still be found on menus in restaurants, the are also restaurants that serve just fondue!! My grandson’s love Salisbury steak!!
These aren’t forgotten. I know lots of people (including me) who still make and eat most of these.
I’m okay with veal and asspic being gone.
I love Salisbury Steak.
Good luck getting the veal.
Many of them are still on my menu. Thank you for reviewing these wonderful dishes.
I remember when microwaves were still a relatively new thing. There was a microwave commercial where the mom was serving another fancy dinner, all easily cooked in minutes in her miraculous new microwave oven. She was like, "Ta-Dahhh! Duck A l’orange! 😃" all boujee, and the 12yr old son goes, "What ever happened to Hamburger aux Ketchup? 😒" 😜
Notice how all of these common 70s dishes are considered comfort food to be eaten occasionally, if at all, today, yet people were much thinner back then. We also didn’t sit in front of a computer or on a phone all day, doing virtual work/games/activities while robots mow our lawns and mop our floors. Even FEEDING ourselves is too much work today. Everything has to come out of a box and be ready in 7-10min.
top vid, but remember a sole (meuniere) is not a fish fillet, it's a small flat fish, bone in. for the rest keep up the good work
These aren't forgotten.
Veal Marsala is #1 on my list.
Still have duck a l'orange at Christmas & Shepherds pie is a weekly staple during the winter
In Australia we love a chicken parmigiana using flattened chicken breast. We shorten the name so it’s a chicken parmi or parma. It’s a very common dish served at restaurants in clubs and pubs.
I still make most of these dishes. I never liked fondue. It was too messy, and not that flavorful.
I still make or order most of these
I just made eggplant parmesan 2 days ago. I can't get enough. Its so good
THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN. THEY ARE STILL BEING SERVED EVERYWHERE
Sheperd's pie is still extremely popular in the UK. Pubs serve it, cook chill versions are in supermarkets, schools rotate it for lunches and it's made at home. Hardly forgotten.
