  1. Why do wines from SIlex soils have reductive notes like flint? Its strange right as reduction isn't a terroir character ususally.

  2. I recomend to age Rudi Pichlers Riesling Kirchweg for 10 to 15 years in the cellar!
Last year I drank the 2008. It was so f🎉 delicious.

  3. Eclectic is the word, indeed. Perfect title, great visual support, expert explanations, excellent selection of wines. Another worthwhile and very helpful and valuable video for all wine enthusiasts. Congratulations, John—well done!

  4. I litterally just bought and drank Clos de Mosny today at a barbecue with friends… and I was thinking about buying more because it was fantastic, especially for the price. Chenin is really an underrated gem.

  5. Thank you for the video and sharing the recommendations!
Exceptional selection, every Wine definitely worth exploring!

  6. Great respect to Jacky Blot who left us last year and who brought the Domaine de La Taille aux Loups to where it is today: one of the great names in Loire whites. This Clos de Mosny has a touch of bourignon style, and I recommend to let it air out before tasting. Very good value for money
on all the cuvée, I highly recommend it.

  7. Excellent list. I have a bottle of the Dönnhoff in the fridge right now as it happens.
Other eclectic wines that I love are malvesia from Slovenia, dry furmint from Hungary and (much harder to find), Italian grapes from Australia, such as Sangiovese and Tempranillo from Canberra District. I really recommend somehow trying Ravensworth's Estate Sangiovese.
