Welcome to my channel which is all about my big plans to renovate an old disused rustic farmhouse that I purchased in rural Italy. I show you why I chose to buy a house in Italy and why I chose to live in the Marche region over places such as Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo and Puglia.

Hi Richard, love your videos. I agree with others about swapping the bathroom and wardrobe but also, you have not left very much bench space in the kitchen for preparation work. The corner cupboard can be more useful if you get the swing out cupboard inserts or a hinged core door. Good luck with the house. Regards from Australia.
24:37 its great way of thinking, but the fire place stands in the middel, I would suggest that you replace between the sofa and the desk area so that the big open area in the middle for purpose of sitting and getting worm in winter…also the kitchen you can do a bar system to make it easy to deliver plates on a tabel and two chairs …the last thing is the dressing room you need to think about the orientation of it in relation to bathroom shower pipes as it would be in the middel…..wishing you good luck its really exciting to do your own privet place with your own hands …keep the good job on!
Loving the channel mate. Basically alone on the beautiful beach telling us about your house renovation plans. Waiting for my kids to grow up so we can do something similar!?
Im in Davenport, a lift over on your next trip would be great 😂 can always get that patio done
I enjoy your videos. Happy belated birthday!.
Hope u getting commission from the tourist board 😀
Love the plan btw – can always have a sofa bed in the lounge for occasional visitors if u can tolerate them😂
To avoid digging up the floor for plumbing, or boxing it in, it works well to have all fixtures attached to outside walls. Having said that though, your plans are coming along nicely. That fireplace is beautiful, well done. I enjoy your videos. Cheers! 😊
Greetings from Redondo Beach 🇺🇸🇺🇸Nice farmhouse video🌷🌷
you should make a rustic pergola over that space you sit in outside….grow some grapes over it for shade.
BTW….that last view of you sitting outside is insane!!
Several people have commented on visitors only having access to the bathroom through the bedroom but Richard himself said because there’s only one bedroom it would only be close friends and family that would stay overnight in which case I’m sure none of them would feel that was an invasion of privacy.
While building work is underway in any major project, most socialising with not -so-close friends is more likely to be offsite, ie local restaurant, bar or coffee shop…
I can see the logic in removing the wall between the bedroom and the hallway. Having a sizeable area added to the bedroom vs the (very) occasional need for someone else to use the bathroom is in my opinion a no brainer. Plus of course there’s the outside toilet which we know there are plans for…
Each to their own but when designing any space you to have really think through how the space would be used by the current owner and their lifestyle. If Richard decided to sell up then he could re-jig the access to the bathroom if the potential buyers would be put off by this arrangement but from what he’s said it doesn’t sound like he’ll be selling up any time soon. 😁
I also LOVE seeing your town in England at the end!!! my hubby is British(from Kent) and we haven't been since before the pandemic so it was really nice to see a British town again! thank you!!
Talking to yourself is quite normal Richard
Arguing with yourself because you came up with a better idea than you did is not normal…. Im not telling you how I know this 😂😂😂
Great video and progress this week, the fireplace looks fantastic!
I love the grounded reality of this channel!!!
Retirement took a toll on my finances, but with my involvement in the digital market, $47,000 weekly returns has been life changing. AWESOME GOD❤️
A quite important thing that is very often overlooked is – drumroll – ventilation.
Unless you plan on having some old and crappy windows that generously leak air – guaranteeing cold mornings in the winter – you definitely want to have a solid look at this concept.
Unfortunately a lot of people still thinks that windows are part of the ventilation.
They are not.
An easy way of thinking about it is that windows are there to let light in.
Ventilation is there to let air in and out – in a CONTROLLED fashion.
if someone comes to you and needs the bathroom they have to go through your bedroom!!
Thanks again Richard! We were in Marche in June and went to the beach near Sirolo and the water was great so I'm wondering what time of the year you filmed this. Looking at the fields I guess it was before June. Could you perhaps give an indication of when an episode is filmed so we can get an idea of the climate in Marche?
Hello gorgeous! Sound like you have yourself a little a Nightingale there! Really odd tune from that bird and it sings in odd hours, too 😀.
Oh, and I forgot to mention. When you´re done or fed up with renovations inside, you must Must MUST build a pergola and plant some vines around it. Then, you will have the outside space of your dreams!
Love your show . I do remodels also here in old small farm houses (Texas).
You need a queen size Murphy bed in the front room w the Tele. That way you e got sleeping accommodations for two more or little ones
The Town, the beach- it all looks amazing!
The only thing to keep in mind with the kitchen is counter top space. When coffee machines etc are out theres not too much food prep space. Massive fridge freezer might take up too much space
Idea for content. We don’t ever see you cooking or eating some of the amazing food there is in Italy. Start making some luxury lunches once in a while. Keith Floyd style. 😉
Another great one Richard, wondering how you find the transition in driving styles from country to country?
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
