fun fact the greatest April fools prank ever pulled was performed by the BBC in 1957 on April 1st 1957 the BBC show Panorama which is an investigative documentary style show about global issues aired a segment called the spaghetti harvest in t Chino the segment starts by showing spaghetti hanging from trees and talks about how an unseasonably warm spring was causing problems for the spaghetti farmers in Switzerland’s tachino region and goes on to explain how spaghetti is harvested by by hand from spaghetti trees and then laid out in the sun to dry the segment also explains that the reason spaghetti is always the exact same length is due to years of selective breeding by spaghetti Farmers the segment was aired at a time when few people in Britain ate spaghetti or Italian food and after the segment aired the BBC was flooded with calls from people asking where they could buy spaghetti tree seeds and how to grow their own spaghetti trees in their backyard

    People believed that spaghetti was grown on trees!

  7. My dad believed for 25 years, the April 1st issue of that one magazine where it featured Antarctic moles that had a big round dome head with hot blood vessels for melting tunnels in the ice and they'd tunnel around penguins and make them fall thru ice and eat them

  10. There was a prank in Israel when they said in the news that an asteroid is going to pass next to Earth and it's full of gold or something like that and it's going to sprinkle gold and that people should get out of their house and use a bowl so they could catch the sprinkles of gold.
