i am rating the national dish of every
country to figure out which is the best
one today i’m trying indonesia this is
called nasi goreng you know me i love
fried rice and this is probably my
favorite fried rice dish i’ve ever made
the mixins are pretty simple we have
some onion some red bell pepper and some
garlic and then it’s just a matter of
making a regular fried rice however what
makes this special is the way we season
it we have this shrimp paste which is an
umami packed substance that
unfortunately smells not so nice
then we have ketchup which is a sweet
aromatic soy sauce and is the main
flavor component of this dish and a
touch of sesame oil to finish it not
only that but it’s also traditionally
served with a crispy fried egg on top
and of course i did that too this gets
an 8.2 out of 10 from me which puts it
at the top of the charts because it’s
the first one in the series so let’s see
is anything going to dethrone this what
country should i do next

  1. Try Pakistani dish Hakeem, it's a mixture of mutton, mixed lentils some wheat, barley rice and served with crispy fried onions, ginger and lemon. You would love it too

  2. Also try Pakistani most famous breakfast, hulwa pori, although it's too oily and not very healthy but it's delicious

  3. No onion in nasi goreng, try shallot and garlic combo + bird's eye chilli or red chilli. And try to beat the egg before or while you fry it, the kecap manis or sweet soysauce as you may say is already correct. Serve nasi goreng with few slices of cucumber and tomatoes.

  4. Who taught you to cook Indonesian fried rice using onions? Cook Indonesian fried rice using shallots, garlic and chilies Then they were crushed until they were crushed . The tomato is only used as a garnish so thinly slice the tomatoes .Authentic Indonesian fried rice doesn't use sesame oil

  5. Where did you get the info that Nasi Goreng is made with peppers and onion 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩

  6. You forgot the shrimp crackers I have basically lived in Indonesia Bali my whole life and this is my favourite meal as it is good without the crackers it’s way better with the cracker

  7. Who used sesame oil in Javanese style nasi goreng?!? 🤣🤣 Nobody used bell pepper with rice in Indonesia. Where did you get this blasphemous recipe and called it Indonesian style?

  8. there is a lot improvised version of nasi goreng but for the traditional one i personally think the dish on the clip is far from how nasi goreng on my area at least taste.
