Giovanni Manzone is a small winery located in Monforte d’Alba, right in the heart of the Barolo Region and appellation. They are a boutique winery producing less than 50’000 bottles every year, focusing on high quality terroir driven wines. Manzone makes mostly native piedmontese varietals, including a unique white wine made with 100% Rossese Bianco grapes. They produce spicy and powerful Barolos with their top wine being a Riserva coming from Gremolere vineyard with a southwest exposure. The Gramolere Riserva 2011 was our selection for our Barolo wine club because it gave us that WOW factor, with the special characteristic of being outstanding now but also with incredible potential to age.
