In this episode of Cooking with Bessemer, we show you how to cook Traditional Italian Pizza
34cm Baking Dish & Lid
Maria Panazzolo
2 cups Plain Flour (use 1 ¾ cups & leave some to bind the dough)
¾ cup warm water
1 sachet of dry yeast or 1 teaspoon
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon Bread Improver
Mix ingredients and mix to form a smooth ball, leaving the sides of the bowl clean. Cover and put in a warm place until double in size. You may need a bit of oil on your hands.
Spread the dough across the base of baking dish to cover evenly. Spread dough with sauce and toppings of your choice ( mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, capsicum, olives etc etc.)
Cover with lid on low to medium heat for approximately 20-30 minutes or until base is crisp.

The Bessemer presenter says in the video: "2 cups of plain flour, a teaspoon of salt, a little bit of sugar, a cup of warm water – and a bit of oil and it needs time to rise". Seriously?? You are never going to get a dough with plain flour to rise without yeast with these instructions..
She also fails to explain how long to cook it on the stove top, simply swapping over to a pre-prepared pizza is obviously stone cold (the cheese has even congealed!). How anyone thinks this looks like an appealing final product is beyond me.. I think it's time to can this video – I wouldn't be proud to show this as a video Bessemer. Epic Fail.
Looks delicious Maria…..my auntie passed away last year and i was left with all her Bessemer …cook soups, fried rice, etc… keeps things very hot for longer….so tonight i am going to try making Italian style pizza…..buon appetite…..buona note….
In the description box it’s mentioned one teaspoon of dry yeast or one sachet .. about 7 grams???
