#louisville #kentucky #restaurant #week #perso
All right. So we are celebrating local businesses all this week. Local restaurants, specifically food. Our favorite thing, it’s Louisville Restaurant Week and we’ve already been to spots in the Highlands and Saint Matthew’s. So this morning, we are heading to Shelby Park for some Italian fare.
Jim and photojournalist. Paul Landers are at Perso this morning, Jim. Good morning. Well, good morning to you, Eric and Grace. Yes, we’re inside Peters. So I’m joined by Emil Davit. He’s the owner out here and we’re talking all about Restaurant Week. We love going around and highlighting local businesses, local restaurants
And trying to get them more exposure. And you guys have been out here for a couple of years. But this is your first time doing restaurant week proper. A me so talk to me a little bit about why you wanted to get involved in Louisville restaurant.
So, um, we wanted to bring more people in here. We’re still very young, so we’re trying to attract more people, show what we do. So we use uh a lot of seasonal product and we want to showcase that and uh Restaurant Week is a good platform
To um help restaurant bring what they do and show the people and let’s talk a little bit about what Peters so does because you have been all over the world. We’re talking, I mean, Italian cuisine out here and it’s coming straight from the source because you’ve been in Italy,
You’ve worked in Italy for a long time. Yes. So, uh, II, I lived in Italy for 10 years. That’s where I started cooking. I worked there for eight years, seven years in uh Rome in a year in Milan. So I uh the restaurant have uh Italian influence, but with our own version.
So I’m born and raised in the Philippines. So we use some of the ideas on both and implement uh using uh European techniques, implementing and uh putting it all together. Love it. And this is such a unique space too. Paul giving us a look here as we go into the dining room,
Which is actually buttered right up into the kitchen. So a very unique experience being able to come in here and see the food cooking while you’re enjoying the atmosphere. We’re going to see some of that food cooking here in just a little bit coming up in about 30 minutes.
We’re going to get back in the kitchen with a meal and we’re gonna start whipping up some of these items that you can get during Louisville Restaurant Week, Eric and Grace. It’s set to be a great morning out here in Pero.
Yeah. He had me at, I lived in Rome and worked in Rome for 10 years. I, that’s, that’s enough for me.
