Sant’Andrea winery’s story started back in Tunisia in 1850 when the great ancestor of the actual owner, Andrea, had more than 600 hectares of wine. Then the World War Two broke out, and then the revolution during the 60s, they have to flee losing everything, and they reached a territory which was only recently converted from a swamp to one of the richest lands of Europe – Latina, just 100 kms south from Rome.
Sant’Andrea is a well-known winery for its rose types and for the cultivation of Muscat wine. Its approach is deeply focused on the preservation of the natural resources and on the promotion of circular economy.
The winery is situated in one of the richest and most beautiful landscapes in Italy, near Terracina and Circeo mountain, where the Greek mythology of Homer made Ulysses and Circe meet – she trapped him and transformed his friends into swine. Circeo mountain is one of the most incredible places to visit, a mountain-cliff on a the Mediterranean sea to climb and to walk in.

La storia della Cantina Sant’Andrea inizia nel 1850 in Tunisia, quando il trisavolo dell’attuale proprietario, Andrea, aveva oltre 600 ettari di vigneti. Scoppiata la Seconda Guerra e poi la Rivoluzione in Tunisia negli anni sessanta, la famiglia dovette scappare, perdendo tutto. E raggiunse un territorio completamente nuovo, solo da poco bonificato da palude a fiorente campagna: Latina, giusto 100 chilometri a sud di Roma.
Sant’Andrea è una cantina molto rinomata per il suo rosé e per la coltivazione del moscato. Il suo approccio è legato alla conservazione del territorio e all’applicazione dei principi dell’economia circolare in ogni suo passaggio.
La cantina, inoltre, è situata uno dei luoghi più mozzafiato d’Italia: Terracina e il Circeo, la montagna dove l’Ulisse di Omero si fermò, prigioniero della maga Circe, che trasformò i compagni dell’eroe greco in maiali.
