  1. I swear by keto and carnivore diets while I'm doing power lifting. It's sort of a no brainer though… I hate grain and bread type stuff and can't stand sugar. My favorite foods are meats and cheese.

  4. Lost 40 lbs living in Spain just from the walkability of the cities and the food was almost always fresh and unprocessed. I wasn’t even “dieting.” Returned to US and tried to eat similarly and walk as much as possible and still regained + some. Definitely something about the food. Now I’m focusing on intuitive eating to heal my disordered eating patterns and for weight loss I’m just gonna balance workouts. Still doing cardio, just focusing more on building muscle to improve my metabolism.

  5. 14 days? I've been eating the Mediterranean diet for 10 months and I'm still changing. Years of bad eating and bad health can't be rectified in 14 days. This is a lifestyle change. It's commitment not fashion.

You might like these recipes that are my favs at the moment; mushroom stroganoff pasta (with a stack of spinach – delish), also a tomato and lentil soup (great with garlic sourdough)., and grilled vegetables are great as they are, in a wrap with feta and then leftovers into a frittata which I serve with an avocado and orange salad. I love this way of eating and in my family we have steak Friday, and a roast every few weeks. My weight loss is slow, but I am ok about that.

  10. It's basically quality and freshness over processed food. You could eat a burger with the Mediterranean diet even if it's not traditional, just quality meat, bread, fresh veggies etc. Greetings from Spain!

  11. Nothing's wrong with a good lasange in winter times. Look up Chef Gennaro and don't buy ready sauce for it.

  13. “I have an art degree” is the greatest caveat I’ve ever heard. Thanks for the laugh. My dad had quintuple bypass surgery this year and it was a wake up call. I’m on a Mediterranean kick and appreciate the report. It really isn’t a “diet,” just a way of eating that makes sense and maximizes energy and balance. Also… chia seed pudding is basically nature’s Taco Bell for the bowels… holy smokes. Keep some Gatorade on hand.
