This used to be a real market for locals. Now it mostly caters to tourists. It's a real shame how it has changed in the past 10 years.

Boqueria market is overrated. The food are exposed to flies. I saw a couple of flies around the food stalls. We were about to eat the paella and the guy putting our food in the container was talking and food particles came flying out of his mouth. I wanted to vomit
