  1. Cheese and wine from England? Is that it?
Meanwhile in 2022, the value of Scotch whisky exports was up 37% by value, to £6.2bn. The number of 70cl bottles exported also grew by 21% to the equivalent of 1.67bn.
Our distilleries also produce Gin, making us the worlds largest producer exporter of Gin and Geneva.
No wonder they tell us we are better together…..

  2. Nothing to worry about. Wallace and gromit when to the moon and it appears it's just a giant hunk of cheese. Plenty for everyone.

  3. Transition has ended. More food products now require veterinary certificates. Neither side has enough vets. The EU can function without our food. We can’t function without theirs.

  4. Below are the 15 countries that exported the highest dollar value worth of wine during 2021.

France: US$13.1 billion (32.2% of total wine exports)
    Italy: $8.4 billion (20.7%)
    Spain: $3.5 billion (8.5%)
    Chile: $2 billion (4.8%)
    Australia: $1.7 billion (4.2%)
    United States: $1.5 billion (3.6%)
    New Zealand: $1.4 billion (3.4%)
    Germany: $1.2 billion (2.9%)
    Portugal: $1.1 billion (2.7%)
    Argentina: $853.3 million (2.1%)
    South Africa: $750.4 million (1.8%)
    United Kingdom: $642.5 million (1.6%)
    Belgium: $634.3 million (1.6%)
    Netherlands: $598.3 million (1.5%)
    Singapore: $596.4 million (1.5%)

By value, the listed 15 countries shipped 92.9% of global wine exports in 2021.

  5. Allowing more pesticides in the vineyards, allowing more chemistry in winemaking, skipping appellations of origin, adding sugar to wine… these are the benefits. yuck 🤢🤢

  6. Good luck selling those non regulated goods in the EU and in half or more of the world, and British wine? Brrrrr.

  7. Marc, referring to your background picture, it shows the EU jigsaw flag disturbed by the cut out word BREXIT when the cheese war disturbs the UK economy.

  8. British cheese is en vogue. It should come as no surprise. The French have developed a taste for British cheese in their search for new exciting foods to try. At the World Cheese Awards, a quarter of the cheeses in the top 16 hailed from the UK. Again, no surprises as the competition has seen more British winners than French in its 34 year history.

  9. I know of no other third country with the phobias that the UK harbours on trade! If they knew that about themselves before the vote, they would never have voted the way they did

  10. Anecdotal story from Sweden. The investments are all time high for the green transition. North of the Sweden gets 80 billion worth of investments on green energy, lithium mines, all kinds of things including infrastructure. Lots of work to be done. Now imagine if Scotland would get 80 billion direct investments just like that 🤔 Swedish are going to open a giant mine. Finland is preparing to open even bigger one. Finland also has more investments than ever to do the green transition. Instead UK decides to swim in the 💩

  11. Im happy as larry. I voted for brexit, and ill never be out of chedder cheese. Best cheese in world.

  12. raprochement is a recent french borrowing and should be pronounced in french, not english. Ra prosh moh
