  4. @EliJeky Yes. I actually quite like it. The aquariam is amazing even if it looks like a big box. And the foccacio there with onion on it is great. And it makes a good starting off point to visit Cinque Terra. Beautiful palce.

  5. @woltersworld Yes…I like so much "focaccia con cipolle" too!!! :0) You are what we call a "Buon gustaio!" I don't know if there is a translation for it!!! Well…enjoy your life!!! Soon!

  7. We're planning our 6th trip to Italy. I love the country, the people are great. Food, wine art, architecture, it's wonderful. We always stay in "centro storico", in historic hotels right in the old town, and stay several days in each town. We don't do the travel tour "hit and run". We try to see each town thoroughly. Some we've visited several times.

  8. My best tip for eating out in Italy – and I learned this from an Italian while there: take a small pad of paper with you. As you order, write down the price of each dish you order – yes, in front of the waiter/waitress – even in the Vatican, believe me. At the end of the meal, when you request l'addizione! add up your calculations and compare them with the bill. Pay what you calculate. The only time that I had a problem (I was traveling with a German and we spoke German together – I speak Italian) was the the waiter cussed me out: AA! questi banditi tedeschi! No, signore, sono americano! I said and left. senza probleme!
