I always get caught by surprise when I see people smoking indoors in these videos from the 80s lol Iâm too young to have ever seen that happen irl in a restaurant, mall, etc.
Very happy McDonaldâs doesnât keep food packaged under a hot light anymore. The food is hot held at safe temperatures. Thatâs an upgrade, wish places had this level of service still though.
"I'm going to tell everybody to come over to my house so they can see me on TV." It used to be that was the only way to catch someone on the news, and it was a big deal because the ability to broadcast to the world was not in your pocket. People are so used to that now and think nothing of being on camera.
I can't even remember when I stopped regularly keeping cash and using it but it is so noticeable when I see people only using it.
Women were so much classier back then. I remember my mom wearing skirts and pumps like that with pantyhose and always had earrings and a necklace on. I miss those times ðĒ
Don't romanticize this time too much. Look up the Wendy's massacre. Also, the food was full of Trans fats then and the containers were Styrofoam. People were still impatient, but not as much as today bc technology allows us to demand more speed. Regardless, I'd go back to 1984 in a heartbeat because people spent time together.
"Once upon a time there was a tavern, Where we used to raise a glass or two, Remember how we laughed away the hours, Think of all the great things we would do?
Those were the days, my friend We thought they'd never end, We'd sing and dance forever and a day, We'd live the life we choose, We'd fight and never lose, For we were young and sure to have our way.
Just tonight I stood before the tavern Nothing seemed the way it used to be In the glass I saw a strange reflection Was that lonely person really me?
Those were the days, my friend We thought they'd never end We'd sing and dance forever and a day We'd live the life we choose We'd fight and never lose Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days." ðĒ
Now it's just one big screen kiosk, and one or maybe two people in the back. Go ahead, McDonald's. Try telling me your 'futuristic change' is better. It's just an empty, cold machine.
The only fast food restaurant that still gets it in 2023 is Culvers. Hats off to them for retaining a vibrant, pleasant atmosphere with real people and a genuine restaurant experience.

Damn, the ice cream machine didnt work back then either
1984 was a great year at McDonald's. I still remember the unlimited Olympic game piece hack. USA won so many events and I got so many free Big Macs.
Back when smoking and apple pie was allowed at McDiabetes ðð
Back before the ice cream machine was broken.

Vampire Reboot, I was either in 7th or 8th grade.
Kai D, I loved the music, clothes, make up, etc., but wouldnât want to be a teenager again.
Although I quit smoking 4 years ago, I miss it. I missed smoking indoors when people in Ohio, not me, voted indoor smoking out of buildings.
Imagine walking into a fast food joint today and only seeing 2 fat people ðĪĢ
When McDonalds use to be good!
Flashback
worked at a McDonaldâs in 1984. I was a senior in high school.
Blahh. It was horrible.

Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely person really me?
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days." ðĒ

WaitâĶso they had a sufficient amount of staff and customers werenât yelling at the employees? What a concept!
The general public is so much fatter these days.
People were polite and respected each other more than now.
I can remember this time and I would love to go back to then.
