Check out the Holland America food and menus at the Main Dining Room (MDR) for dinner from our 2022 cruise aboard the Nieuw Statendam. During our 7 day cruise, there were two formal nights and a Culinary Council dining event that featured numerous dishes with recipes from famous chefs like Rudi Sodaman & David Burke. We also give reviews and commentary on the various appetizers, main entrees and desserts ordered.

I learned a lot by watching this great video.
1) The food on Holland America looks scrumptious! Can't wait to try it in a few months. (Well, all except the water soup).
2) Your wife really likes crispy things!
3) She also has exquisite taste in jewelry!
Once you've seen what an elite cruise is like, everything for the rank and file looks overrun, tacky and cheap.
I adore her reactions to the tastes. Obviously a trained palate, she sells each dish!
This video is so well done both cinematography and narrative but it must drive the PETA folks crazy what with the “Salmon fat oozing and the tendons in the steak adding texture”. Keep up the informative presentations.
can't wait to go on Rotterdam over Christmas. We did one Hal, on Koningsdam, and found the food to be a tad better, 'fancier' choices than the usual Carnival/NCL/Royal. We like those too, but Hal and Celebrity are just a tad more upscale. Those two have lamb, the others either don't or maybe you'll see it once in a 7 nighter. I like getting lamb and beef. I don't think I ever get chicken b/c I just figure that's so easy to get anytime, and it's just a 'blank palette'. But lamb, seafood, and beef I'll typically get. Duck is good too. So that menu that had duck and also beef/lobster, I'd have agonized over that one…
Just said on HAL MS Eurodam and NO lobster night! That was a perk one looks forward to. You can however buy a lobster tail for like 30 bucks and it’s so small and you only get two or three bites out of it….

Another great video, like usual. I think that this is one of your longest videos. There are so many great options. I cannot wait until next month. Love the idea of all of the fish, veal, and lamb entrees. I have a feeling that after this cruise, Holland America may become my favorite.

I'll be sailing the Rotterdam soon. I hope that some of these options will be on the menu, because I will now know which ones to avoid and which ones to order for sure! Great descriptions of food.

🤔 You know on parent-teacher interview night, when you meet your kid's friends' parents for the first time, and there's always one lady who is genuinely kind and friendly with everyone? That's who this lovely lady reminds me of. Such a kind disposition. I enjoy the cruise buffet food videos from this couple's channel so much more than any other. This channel, as well as the couple that specializes in Disney ships and other venues.
