  1. love your channel so much! i'd love some videos for college students and super easy simple meal ideas! thanks so much

  2. Hello Fresh is great for peeps who have executive dysfunction and depression issues too. Fewer decisions and you still get a great home cooked meal.

  3. What gets to me about the dinner boxes is the waste! So much packaging! Wish it were different!

  4. If you're going to call yourself a pro, you need to get the lingo down. No worries though. I'm always here to help.
Those were not cloves of garlic. They were entire bulbs. A clove is one of the many, individual sections of the bulb.
Thank-you for coming to my Ted Talk. 👄

  5. My daughter and her ex-husband got this one for about 6 months. She said they always got extra spices and a recipe card and they would them make the recipes after they stopped getting it. They definitely thought it was worth it for the short term and then had recipes to use whenever they wanted to.

  6. I agree with many of the comments below. We did Hello Fresh and Blue Apron during 2020 to add variety and it was fun to do together and we were not dining out. One thing that hasn't been discussed when talking about the cost is comparing it to going to a restaurant. If you are ordering these meal kits to save money over regular groceries I think this video is a very accurate comparison. There are certain ingredients the meal kits have in small portions that would be more expensive to buy in the store in larger quantities, but you obviously get more food buying grocers – so it sort of comes out pretty even. However, if you are investing in meal kits as alternative to going out to eat then the meal kits are a fantastic value – not only for your pocket book but for your health as well! Great way to get in the habit of cooking at home and enjoying it!

  7. Thank you so much for the breakdown! I love Hello Fresh for the convenience, inspiration, well-written recipes and great spice mixes.
Btw: you do actually get the recipes for all the dishes each week if you just scroll down past the nutrition info, where it says "cooking steps" or something.

  8. Hello Fresh, got me through covid lockdowns when we couldn't leave our houses

  9. This would have been a better video if you actually did a real comparison. Not buying organic, break down the cost per serving. You even said you made "slightly more" with your pasta dish. You literally made 50% more.

  10. This video makes me want to try Hello Fresh for three reasons: 1. Their two meals a week is the most expensive option if you go up to 3 meals it cuts the cost down. 2. With HF you can get meals that don't share ingredients and the cost is the same. With store bought you had to do meals that you could share ingredients. 3. You saved some money because you already had almonds and a Turkish spice blend. As a non Pro Home Cook I don't have those on hand would need to buy them.

  11. Love watching you cook! Meal kits aren’t for me but it was a great video and comparison. Seems like a whole lot of packaging to throw out.

  12. I’m a faithful watcher of your Videos and when I saw the title of this one, I thought “oh shit, he’s gonna trash it”. I use Hello Fresh pretty regularly. I love to cook but finding time and inspiration can be tough.
I was very pleasantly surprised to see that you liked the service and appreciate that you created dishes on your own using their recipes. I despise food waste so this also helps me not over purchase food that I end up throwing out.
I’ve learned to customize a little and it’s been very inspiring to try new things.
Oh, one of the things I like about Hello Fresh is I can swap the protein (I only eat white meat) and there’s lots of great vegetarian choices.
Thanks for your review! Keep the amazing videos coming.

  13. I've been enjoying Fresh Prep, some great recipes, love their Zero Waste options, and they come in a returnable cooler bag. Almost no waste or recycling

  14. If cooking and food education was made standard in the US and around the world, the need for hellofresh would not exist.

-It's basically a premium high cost service for uninspired rich people who don't have the time to shop for groceries, look up recipes, and experiment with new things in the kitchen.

  15. My wife and I used to do Hello Fresh and we loved it. It was mostly great because we didn't have to worry about figuring out a recipe and shopping for it, the food was almost always solid and tasted great. We eventually stopped ordering it because 3 orders in a row we had pretty wooly chicken breasts delivered and then called it quits.

  16. Personally I haven’t been happy with the quality of Hello Fresh. I really like Blue Apron (recipes can be complicated tho) and Sunbasket is AMAZING. They focus on local and organic meat and produce and always tastes great. EveryPlate is good too and better value.

  17. Bill Gates and the Rockefellars Hate Hello Fresh, imagine a people that know what food can do. Only the dumbest will remain clientele of these companies, many others will realize that cooking isn't that impossible.

  18. If you have a hello fresh account you can get recipes from there, before I canceled my account I saved a bunch of recipes, that I didn't order but thought about ordering, to my computer. I canceled bc it ended up being cheaper for me to buy groceries and use their recipe cards

  19. Been doing hello fresh for a few months now and I love it. Keeping the recipe cards that come in the box so when I cancel hello fresh I can still cook the meals I really liked

  20. Personally I don’t order online. I want to pick my own produce and look at expiration dates and be happy with the quality of what I’m buying. As a plus I always look for markdowns on products or specials running that may not be something I was looking for but was reduced for quick sale /some items are a true bonus to shopping in person vs having someone else do it for me. Now granted if I didn’t have the ability to do so the delivery options would be great but I just personally haven’t a need to do so. Thanks for the videos!

  21. Hellofresh was honestly great when i lived alone. Had me cooking a ton of stuff i wasn't normally cooking. My only issue is usually when i cook i cook for leftovers and there was zero with hellofresh.

  22. Obviously HelloFresh is more expensive than doing ones own grocery shopping. In addition to the cost of the actual ingredients, your fees are paying for the chefs that design the meals, the administrators and staff that run their office, maintenance and updating the website, the purchasers who find suppliers and handle the purchasing, the packaging and delivery costs, the marketing, etc.

It’s impossible for a service like HelloFresh to compete on a calorie per dollar basis.

For the extra cost you’re getting portioned out ingredients and detailed meal instructions delivered to your door. For some people the time savings (not needing to actually go shopping or design dinner plans in advance) and other benefits (like getting ideas for new dishes you hadn’t made before) is well worth the price premium for using HelloFresh (or other similar meals).

I love to cook, but I’ve also got a busy work schedule (and I make good money because of it). HelloFresh (2 meals a week) makes it so I have more free time available to cook more often and I end up making a lot of meals that I usually don’t put in my rotation.

I only get 2 meals a week, so I still cook plenty of my own meals, but I love this service as a supplement.

  23. We did Everyplate and Dinnerly using codes to get the boxes at a discount. I got them as my daughters homeschool cooking course! I don't follow recipes (even when I print them out and have them in front of me, LOL) and this made it easier for my daughter to do! We didn't like Dinnerly, had food missing, and meat that was off and got tired of the same food being offered every week. But we did Everyplate for another month or two until spring came and the child had no interest in cooking anymore! That was 2 years ago, and she has asked if we could do the food boxes again (she's now 13). Its not in the budget to get them now, but I'll probably start having her pick out a meal or more a week to cook, this time adding in budgeting, shopping and adjusting recipes to taste!

  24. We use this service as a recommendation from a friend to see how it goes. Plus it is a nice way to introduce new items for kids. We have since stopped the service, as it is expensive, and I can prepare anything they can. So we saved the recipe cards(some of which I have edited for our tastes, and steps). Thanks

  25. Brilliant idea!! We’ve had hello fresh and really enjoyed but we found it more steps than we wanted. Our son has IBS and we’re thinking of a plan for him that he can just heat up. Maybe every plate
