  1. The crackle of the fire, the chestnuts roasting and the getting as close to the heat without actually burning, the layers of clothes, the cooking over open flames and the contrast between direct fire heat and the cold of other rooms. An ageless atmospheric time hearkening back hundreds of years. Thank you for the video.

  2. Lovely reminders of what you have shared with your viewers during the past year. Can't imagine anything more wonderful than eating a hearty winter soup by the open fire. Buon Natale e Felice announced nuovo!

  3. Delightful and wonderfully delicious view of life by the fire in your country home "sopra Bagni di Lucca". My mantel top presepe made ca. 1950 is inherited from my great uncle, a figurinaio born in Montegegatesi . . . Made of gesso, of course!

  4. I love all your cooking over the fire! Can't wait to do the same thing in our new little home. I used to cook a lot over the fire place in France…we lived in chestnut forests so we were always roasting them! Love the beautiful Presepe as well…they're beautiful and our village has a lot of them I believe. Grazie mille! 🥰🤗

  5. Atmospheric was the word I was thinking of while watching this video too.
The open fire and soup look good but It's 30 degrees celsius here today. I'll have to revisit this video in 6 months time in my winter!
    Thanks for your work

  6. A joy. How I longed to there, by your fire, so peaceful. You’d need to make an extra crêpe – one for me. I must get my nativity scene out of the Christmas box. It’s not as charming as yours but it means Chrismas. All my love to you both, Jan

  7. Thank you for another great video.
We will be in Lucca for the first time tomorrow ! Could you please recommend a good Pizzeria and also somewhere for pasta ? I am travelling with my teenage sons. Somewhere authentic and not expensive please ! Grazie 🙂
