US President Joe Biden and China’s Xi Jinping met in Bali today to set ‘guardrails’ for future relations between the two super powers.
Tensions between the world’s top two economies have been increasing sharply in recent years, with Beijing becoming more powerful and more assertive about replacing the US-led order that has prevailed for decades. The US is hoping for the meeting to establish ‘clear rules of the road’ and help avoid escalation of an ongoing political and economical matchup.
And the EU has its own issues with China. Can the US rely on its support in trying to contain China?

  1. Yesterday- shaking hands with Taiwan
Today – shaking hands with China
While selling weapons and benefiting from both sides -US

  2. Biden Divide the world into two competing ideological blocs: democratic nations in one camp and the rest in another.

This mindset revives an unhelpful Cold War-era framework that split nations into rival groups on Manichean terms, usually preventing cooperation across a range of vital issues.

  3. They want China forever be the world’s sweat factory and so without worrying about having toxic industries back home where it might hurt elections in the “free” world

  4. What the world needs now, so long sleepy joe, sleepy joe,

It's the only thing that there's just too little of.

    What the world needs now,

so long sleepy joe, sleepy joe,

  5. We are glad that the two leaders, POTUS Biden and 习主席 of China have met to resolve the outstanding issues.
I hope both US & China can maintain peace across Taiwan Strait by abiding & adhering to the following assurances …
    a) China (Central govt) shall spare no effort to achieve peaceful reunification as long as Taiwan (region authority) don't declare Taiwan independence for Taiwan to become a sovereign nation or to conduct itself (in whatever form or manner) to undermine China's sovereignty over Taiwan.
    b) US shall adhere to "1 China principle", as agreed in the 3 Communiques and shall not manipulate its own US Congress' "1 China policy" as a disguise to carry out "1 China,1Taiwan" activities to undermine the Chinese people's sovereignty over Taiwan and to challenge the fact that Taiwan is an integral part of China.
We are glad to note that POTUS Biden had said that he meant what he said and said what he meant …. but,
later on, the US Congress often decide to legislate an Act or a ruling, which in essence, contradicts what the POTUS had said or modify what the POTUS had meant (in a legally acceptable manner).
If this is how US democracy and rule of law operates in dealing with its foreign affairs, then this type of "foolproof tactic" is not conducive to establishing mutual understanding & trust between the parties involved ……. 😀😀😀!!!

  6. I'm a bit confused. Is this about persuading China to isolate Russia or using India to contain China? And who will take care of India then? Probably too early for that move, but anyway, all in all, it sounds like a grand strategy.

  7. Leave Russia, you can buy 4-times price gas from US!
Leave China, let them buy cars and airplanes from US!
    Green Party:Yes, master!

  8. “What the world wants China?”. From the western “media”, the world is the west, ~25% of the world population. So next time, they should not be shy away, just say what the west wants China. But, I guess by saying this, everybody knows the answer, just be a yes man to the west.

  9. What the world needs now is love sweet love, i would say that’s a good start from PM Xi just always remember “If you can’t beat them just joined them”

  10. It's not what the worlds want from China, it's always been what the US wants. Don't let the Anglo-Saxons' false narratives brainwash you folks!

  11. U guys understand ccP UNDERWROTE PuTin. Xi is PuTiN’s WAR PARTNER. Weak engagement – notion that trade generally will work to West’s advantage – failed and failed badly. EU knows or u pretends not true?

  12. DW, don't mix the question. EU can hv a good term with China but not US. EU and China complement each other but US sees China as a threat to their world hegemony.

  13. Von Der Lyer must go before EU can have a chance to survive instead of eaten alive by the US. She is an US asset.

  14. China can't want anything….
    They r tooo dump,unwashed n uneducated…
They stink with garlic, noisy footstepping..they r just giant mass population but this doesn't mean they have brains…only masscrowd.
No…please…I see n always saw Chinese..it's worse than bottom.

  15. What the people of the world wants is the west stop giving anymore absurdity to the world and all the goodness China and Russia are concurrently been contributing to the world. Nonsense against logics

  16. China's progress will always bring pains to humanity. Because they don't have human values, this is clear from their attitudes towards their own people. After getting economically sound china used virus to become DON of the world replacing USA. Therefore global community should stand against Chinese as well as USA hegemony. World community should unite against all anti people anti democracy and imperialist attitudes of Chinese and USA. China is barbaric and imperialist country. Throw china out from UNO. Other countries should learn the lessons from srilanka, Pakistan, myanmar, nepal, Bangladesh and laos. These countries first debt traped by virus and now facing civilwar.
