In this week’s episode we go for a tour of our window maker’s workshop and see the progress of our handmade wooden windows. We also continue with the tiling in the house, this time is the kitchen that we tackle! There’s some nice progress with the facade of the house while we are out exploring Serralunga di Alba, located in the center of the rolling Langhe hills, and FontanaFredda Winery. The final thing in today’s episode is that we travel a couple of hours across Italy to Lombardy to visit Henrik and Anna for a tour of their wonderful renovation project “Villa Aroldi” – a dream property for lovers of the movie “Call me by your name”.

We sold our apartment in Stockholm, packed up the car and headed for Piemonte. After a couple of months searching for the right house we came across Our Italian Dream House and immediately made an offer. Four weeks later (just three days before Christmas) we signed the contract and had the keys.
It’s now early 2022 and we have begun work on the epic renovation that stands before us. We are mortgage free and have a very limited budget so plan to take on as much of the renovation ourselves as possible – follow us on our journey as we turn an abandoned Italian farmhouse into our dream home.
