Giacomo Borgogno was established in 1761 by by Bartolomeo Borgogno and one of the oldest, if not the oldest producer in Barolo. Borgogno owns about 30 hectares of vineyards. They are known for the extensive cellar of old wines.

The grapes that produce this wine come from the Cannubi, Liste, San Pietro delle Viole and Fossati vineyards. The winery consists of about 30 hectares of vineyards. The Borgogno family managed the estate for over 200 years until 2008 when they sold it the estate to the Farinetti family. The current winemaker is Andrea Farinetti

This wine was aged in Slovonian oak for 6 years and further aged in bottle 1 years before release. It is made with 100% Sangiovese grapes
