A weekend spent with three friends and four dogs in beautiful Tuscany. Italy is incredibly dog friendly and our dogs are becoming very well traveled!

Friday
Lunch at Osteria dal Nonno in Bologna featuring homemade flatbreads in a tavern dating back to 1901. It was the perfect place to stop with dogs to sit outside at the garden tables.

Then we went to Castiglion Florentino to explore a nearby town. We stopped in at La Piccinia for an apertivo but the food looks really good so I’d love to go back and try it.

For dinner we went to Da Muzzicone which had amazing steaks and bistecca Fiorentina.

Saturday
We spent part of the day in Deruta admiring the beautiful ceramics. I came home with a really pretty decanter that is pink, white, and gold. Then popped into Taverna del Gusto for lunch.

After a wild change in weather and a thunderstorm we decided to check out Cortona for dinner and I really liked this town. We went to Taverna Pane e Vino and ended the night with gelato.

Sunday
After having breakfast and packing up we drove to Arezzo to walk around and have lunch. We stopped at L. Indigeno Wine + Food with all 8 of us! The inside was really beautiful and it was a fun place to relax before our drive home.

We stayed at Casa Portagioia and had a wonderful time. The grounds are beautiful with vineyards and olive trees, breakfast is included, there is a nice pool, and of course Patrick allowed us to bring our pups!
