On Episode 4 of Day Drinking Nashville, we have four time Grammy Nominated Jazz Guitarist, Denny Jiosa, sharing his stories of breaking into the music business in Nashville and showing off his new signature guitar all while sipping on a couple of his favorite Italian wines.
What goes better with jazz than wine and do we ever have a sexy one for you! Alverdi Sangiovese Rubicone IGT is made from 100% Sangiovese, is perfectly aged in stainless steel and has aromas of violets and a mild hint of spice. This dry red has ripe plums, balanced by light tannins and a crisp finish.
Then we enjoy a beautiful deep red Italian wine from Recchia: Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore D.O.C. “Le Muraie.” This wine is a wonderful blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes from the Veneto region. It has a unique aging process that enhances the wine’s body and perfumes before it is aged in oak for 24 months. Intense, yet soft, it is a warm, hearty red with a velvety finish.
Come along and lets explore these two Italian wines and talk with Denny about his life in music AND wine!
