Today we’re making wine into mead…. Now what I mean by this is that we are taking a wine base and making into a mead! The combination of a wine and mead is often called a “Pyment”. Pyment Recipe:

1 Gallon of Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Base
8 Pounds of Blueberry Honey
2 Gallons of Water
5 Grams of Red Star Premiere Cote Des Blancs
2 tsp of Fermaid O
10 Grams of Granulated Oak
— If your mead ferments to 1.000, make sure you stabilize with potassium sorbate & potassium metabisulfite because your yeast could still ferment if you back sweeten! —

Starting Gravity: 1.130

Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Recipe:

1 Gallon of Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Base
2 Gallons of Water
5 Grams of Red Star Premiere Cuvee
10 Grams of Granulated Oak

Starting Gravity: 1.080
