Solvang, a quick 45-minute drive from Santa Barbara, is a truly unique village rife with activities, seasonal festivals, wine-tasting rooms, and delectable dining. A beautiful village that looks and smells like Christmas year-round, with twinkling lights at night and baked goods served fresh every morning.
Solvang is most famous for its bakeries. They’re known for serving authentic Danish treats like aebleskivers and other tempting pastries, and they’re a must.
You can enter to Mission Drive, Solvang’s Main Street. Lined with souvenir shops, unique boutiques, wineries, art galleries, and Mom and Pop restaurants, you’ll love exploring the downtown area.
If you like the flavor and aroma of Black Truffle, then you’ll love Solvang Olive press, well known for having the best Truffle oil in town.
This city is also a paradise for wine lovers, just like me. Given the fact that it’s near the heart of California wine country, this isn’t surprising. With more than a dozen tasting rooms to choose from, you’re sure to find plenty of wine varieties you will enjoy. You need to visit Osteria Grappolo, an authentic Italian restaurant located in the quaint town of Solvang known for producing some amazing wines.
Solvang is a year-round destination, and you really can’t go wrong visiting any time of year but if you can come at Christmas you will have a fabulous time. The town is beautifully lit up, and the various events during the holidays make a visit to Solvang at Christmas extra special.
