Established in 1997, the New South Wales family owned Mino + Co, have been producing wonderfully exciting wines suited to the warmer regions growing conditions (but not limited to), for almost two decades. Signor Vino are the lifeblood of the boutique winery. The wines they make with an Italian heart and an Australian soul. As an Italian family, the Guglielmino’s are passionate about their heritage, and what better way to reflect this than in the wines they have created under ‘Signor Vino’. The grapes they select, are only ever of high quality, think Fiano, Vermentino, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo… sourced from the Adelaide Hills, Riverina and Riverland. These regions produce rich, concentrated fruit flavours, and so it’s from here they make wine in their ‘Italian’ style, in the language of vino.

Signor Vino’s whites are always friendly and chillable, light to medium bodied, and boast summer and citrus fruits, with a generally lean and crisp, lengthy palate. The reds, are typically bold fruit flavours, yet are softened and balanced out nicely by how they are aged, some, such as this ‘traditionally made’ Nebbiolo from the Adelaide Hills, spend up to 18 months in French and American Oak barrels.

Nebbiolo has a curious way of balancing its inherent earthy traits with elegance. Lifted aromas that speak of Italy, with a core of red plum, dried herbs, and orange rind on the nose, with a wave of tannin and breadth of flavour on the palate; high acidity, ripe with drying tannins and a medium body. Despite its confident, firm structure, there’s no shortage of grace and flow. Cranberry, anise, and rose petal soften the palate, with a supple texture keeping this wine intrinsically balanced.
