Do you like orange wines? If you think Tuscany is a region where only red wines are produced, follow our expert Filippo Bartolotta to discover there are more and more local producers who are following this worldwide movement of reviving this ancient style of wine making technique: macerating white grapes with their skins and treating them as they would be treated for red ones.

Podere Le Ripi is a historical winery in Montalcino who started to reproduce this orange Canna Torta by using the autochthonous white grapes varieties Trebbiano and Malvasia with skin contact during fermentation, and aging in terracotta jars and clay amphorae (the ancient containers used to make wines thousands of years ago).

It has a beautiful pale orange/amber color. The nose is pretty intense with orange peel, tangerine, fruits of the orchard, and herbs.
