MARINARA SAUCE, Red Wine Marinara, Zuccotti Red wine, Cabernet Sauvignon
This recipe makes enough to sauce more than a pound of pasta; leftovers can be refrigerated.
MARINARA SAUCE
2 cans tomato sauce
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped fine
2 medium garlic cloves, minced
½ tsp. dried oregano
1/3 cup dry red wine
3 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil leaves
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering. Add onion and cook,stirring occasionally, until softened and golden around edges,6 to 8 minutes.
Add garlic and oregano and cook.
Add tomato sauce.
Add wine and cook 10 minutes until thick.
