Giorgio and Michael, will teach you how to make fried calamari. An Italian recipe from Apulia, Italy. The originally recipe has been taught from their Italian grandmother Nonna Pina.
Calamari, the Italian word for squids, has long been a typical food in Italy and now it dominates the appetizer sections of menus here in America.
I grew up eating Calamari in my house and we would love to share this recipe with you. This sea food dish is a fun idea to share with family or friends: a recipe that will win everyone over, including the little ones.
▼ INGREDIENTS:
Calamari
Salt
Flour
Vegetable Oil
We usually buy frozen squids that they are already cleaned and ready to cook. On a tray distribute the flour, then arrange the rings of squid. Mix them well so that the flour adheres well on all sides.
Pass them into a colander, so that they lose excess flour. Put on the fire a large pot with oil for frying. At this point fry the rings a few at a time for 3-4 minutes, until they are well golden and crispy.
Drain them well and put them on a tray lined with paper towels to drain the excess oil. Add some salt to taste and serve your calamari.
Buon appetito!
