What is Argentina’s National Liquor?
Anthronauts! Subscribe! Como andas, my Anthronaut? In our last episode, we learn that Asado is Argentina’s national dish in a celebration of family and friendship. So, what is their national liquor, well it’s wine, of course! Wine-making in Argentina begins under Spain’s colonization in the mid-16th century, as the Penisulares, plant their grape vines into this South American soil. As the industry quickly grows, Argentinos produce a low-quality vino, primarily, for their consumption. Now, Argentina exports high-grade wine, and they are one of the largest wine-producers in the world. Wine grapes are fermented in Buenos Aires, and all over this country, with the biggest region being, the Mendoza vineyards located in the central west portion of Argentina. If you are seeking to find things to do here, a wine tasting tour may be an excellent choice. My Argentino amigo Cache is here to offer you some bottle. “Argentina is famous for the wine. Okay? The Malbec is very famous in the world. Many, many, many wines in Argentina. This is a fernet. It’s an Italian drink, but in Argentina the culture is Italian. Okay? And many people drink fernet. This is Gancia, Campari is Italian, and the wine.” Gracias Cache for that wine education.
