The reminiscent of the plague in Italy, the wine windows might have become an excellent option to enjoy drinking wine offered by restaurants on the streets of the Italian city of Florence amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as shown in the footage filmed on Tuesday.

Florence’s buchette del vino, literally wine holes, emerged during the 17th-century epidemics to help Italians drink their way through the plague and have now made a comeback to help serve gelato, coffee, and spirits to the patrons during the coronavirus outbreak.

As reported by the administration of wine and food, there are 167 wine windows in the city. Only five are reported as functional.
