Isole e Olena is a winemaker in the heart of Chianti Classico in Tuscany with 290 hectares of vineyards. They combined the two villages Isole e Olena into one. Paolo was one of the first winemakers who made red wine with 100% Sangiovese grapes. At that time it was very uncommon to use only Sangiovese. The legislation for Chianti Classico required a percentage of white wine to be added to the wine. But Paolo created an amazing red wine and has been making his 100% Sangiovese ever since.
