Today, Corinna is going to show you how to make il polpettone di tonno (tuna loaf), a fresh, tasty and summery dish that it is easy peasy to make! This dish is ideal for every kind of event: as an entrée to an exquisite dinner, served in a refined buffet or even as a snack to offer to your family and friends during a picnic. As many Italian dishes, its origins go back to the XVI century but its taste has evolved during the years. Enjoy it!
INGREDIENTS
300gr of ricotta cheese
200gr of canned tuna
1 egg
4 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
1 garlic clove
Capers
Parsley
Salt
PREPARATION
Mix the ricotta, tuna, bread crumbs, chopped garlic, parsley garlic and egg. Add a few pinches of salt. Use your hand to make a loaf and wrap in foil making sure the edges are sealed.
Fill a large pan with water and bring to the boil. Cook the loaf for at least 40 minutes. Drain it and put in the fridge for at least one hour.
Slice it and dress it with mayonnaise, olives, capers, tomatoes, arugula and/or whatever you would like to dress you tuna loaf with.
Serve cold.
