This is easy recipe of making Italian dessert Mango Gelato at home. This is delicious and vegan 😊
Gelato is a popular Italian frozen dessert. It is lower in fat and denser compared to ice creams.
Ingredients:
1. 5 Mangoes (4 for the puree, 1 for chopped pieces)
2. A can of coconut milk (Any normal milk can be used)
3. ¼ cup brown sugar (adjust the sugar based on mango sweetness)
4. Juice of half lemon
5. 1.5 tbsp cornstarch
Method
1. Peel and roughly chop mangoes
2. Add to the blender
3. Add coconut milk, lemon juice, cornstarch and sugar
4. Make into puree
5. Freeze the puree for 6-7 hours or until nicely frozen.
6. Take out from freezer, let it thaw for 20 minutes
7. Cut into small portions
8. Add to blender or food processer and blend it until nicely smooth texture is achieved.
9. Repeat step 5 to 8 one more time to get nicely smooth texture
10. Transfer to a freezer safe container, add one whole chopped mango and mix nicely
11. Finally freeze it for 4-5 hours again.
12. Let it thaw for 20 minutes before serving 😊
