Hi my gourmet friends! It’s the perfect day for my “polpette”, meatballs cooked with tomato sauce and paired with a very nice red wine from Umbria.

Umbria is located in the center of Italy, it’s a small region where local cuisine are local grapes give flavorful results. Follow the recipe and send me a photo of your “polpette”!! These are also considered a very popular #cicchetto in Venice (Italy), so next time you will visit my city, please drop me a line and I’ll guide through the most original food and wine of the lagoon!!

The red wine I’m tasting for you is a blend of Sangiovese (65%), Merlot (20%) and Sagrantino (15%). The Montioni Family are not only winemakers, they also are extra virgin oil makers.
The smell of this wine gives me black fruit sensations and also a very round aftertaste. The pairing with food is great because tannins can balance the fat part of meat (and Parmigiano).

Never stop tasting!
