Ciao ragazzi. For this Sunday, we are making pasta al pesto genovese.
Pesto or to refer to the original dish pesto alla genovese is a sauce originating in Genoa, the capital city of Liguria, Italy. It traditionally consists of crushed garlic, European pine nuts, coarse salt, basil leaves, hard cheese such as Parmigiano-Reggiano (also known as Parmesan cheese) or Pecorino Sardo (cheese made from sheep’s milk), all blended with olive oil (Wikipedia).
We only need a few ingredients. The crushing and rotating are what make the process a bit longer. However, in the end, it is all worth it as the pesto, combined with pasta is soooo delicious and tasty. ,๐๐๐ Buonissimo, as some Italians would say. Give it a try and let me know how it is. Enjoy! ๐๐ค
