Adding a charcuterie board to your next dinner party is a great way to impress your friends and also serves as a great appetizer while you finish dinner in the kitchen! Join Eric from Simply Elegant Home Cooking as he demonstrates an Italian variation of a charcuterie board.
There are no hard rules for this, although Eric recommends using at least 2-3 different types of cured meats with different flavors, along with several different styles of cheese. It is also important to have a few spreadable items. These can include soft cheeses or items such as pesto or fruit preserves. To balance out the sharp and salty flavors of the meats and cheeses, be sure to have a sweet item or two. Fresh fruit is a good option for this. Also, be sure to serve your charcuterie board with some crackers and/or bread which can be charred if you prefer.
