Italian Harvesting Mangoes in the Philippines
Good day, everyone! We hope all of you and your families are doing well! It’s another hot summer day here in the farm. And in the Philippines, when it’s summer, it’s also the season for their famous Philippine mangoes! Philippine mangoes are hailed to be one of the best in the world and I completely agree. The ripe yellow Philippine mango is one of my favorite fruits and dessert. Compared to the mangoes in Italy, the mangoes of the Philippines taste sweeter and are juicier. Today, I got to climb a mango tree and also use the ‘panungkit’ to harvest the mangoes from the tree. My wife and I tasted a couple of green mangoes after harvesting them. It’s so maasim! The green mangoes are sour or “maasim” but many Filipinos, like my wife, eat them even while still unripe or green together with salt or with the local shrimp or fish paste. Nonetheless, I look forward to eating these mangoes once they become ripe soon! Do you love mangoes, too?
