Dinner Is Served – Episode #1!! Hey everyone!! I have been very very excited to premiere this first episode of our new series called “Dinner Is Served!!” For these next few weeks while I’m unable to travel and tour around attempting restaurant food challenges, I’ll be supporting local small businesses and restaurants who are still open for carryout / takeout and delivery. I will be creating “home food challenges” using the various restaurant menus, paying for all the food and tipping 20% to help all the hard-working staff members still fortunately able to work and provide for their families. I will eat everything at my home apartment. Arthur Davis will film all the episodes and both him and Magic Mitch will produce them.
This episode #1 features my cousins’ Lanasa family restaurant that just opened on December 31, 2019. Angelina’s Italian Market is located in downtown Washington, Missouri and they specialize in serving delicious Italian sandwiches. Each sandwich is 8″ long and there are 12 options. I had my Uncle Joe Lanasa and cousin & Godson Jack Lanasa serve me up a delicious dinner that included their top 3 selling cold sandwiches and their top 3 selling hot sandwiches. Washington, Missouri is a heavily German community so I also ordered some of their amazing and hot German potato salad. To top everything off, I got some of their authentic fresh cannolis – 1 big one and 6 mini cannolis. Once I got home with all the sandwiches, I tried to finish them all in one sitting. Here are the 6 top-selling sandwiches that I ordered:
Angelina’s Top 3 Cold Sandwiches:
#1 – Bommarito – Ham, Roast Beef, Genoa Salami, Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles, Onions, and their house dressing on a French baguette.
#2 – Sicilian – Roast Beef Prosciutto, Capocolla, Provolone Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles, Onions, and Oil & Vinegar Dressing served on a French baguette.
#3 – San Vito Muffaletta – Mortadella, Capocolla, Genoa Salami, Fontina Cheese, Olive Spread, Tomato Jam, and a Mild Giardiniera served on Muffaletta Sesame Flat Bread.
Angelina’s Top 3 Hot Sandwiches:
#8 – Angelina – Homemade Italian Meatballs Covered in Nana’s Meat Sauce Topped with Provel Cheese and Grated Romano Cheese on a French baguette.
#10 – Spicy Anthony – Volpi Cooked Salami, Hot Coppa, Capocolla, Pepper Jack Cheese, and Hot Giardiniera served on a French baguette.
#12 – Salvator – Italian Salsiccia w/ Romano Cheese topped with Nana’s Meat Sauce on French baguette.
