In Italy, where there are more than 7,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases, prison inmates have rioted after family visits were suspended due to fears over coronavirus contagion. In Milan, the convicts climbed on to the roof of the San Vittore prison. In Modena, authorities said six inmates died after they broke into the infirmary and overdosed on methadone. More than two dozen riots have reportedly broken out. Limitations on direct contact between inmates and their families will be valid until March 22.
