China is supporting export-driven manufacturers to sell inventory backlogs on home turf, as many overseas orders were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. On Friday, the Commerce Ministry said China is now temporarily waiving certain interest payments for manufacturers that import materials and export final products, making it less costly to sell backlogs in the domestic products if export orders are canceled. This is a crucial measure as this type of manufacturers contribute to around a third of China’s export revenues.
