On February 4th and 5th, Védegylet organized a Regional Policy Roundtable on “Collective Action for Green Public Catering Based On Quality Food” which explored the current state of Hungarian and international green public procurement and green public catering hosted by the European Youth Center in Budapest. The Roundtable discussion was organized within the project called BOND: Organizing higher level cooperation between organizations and networks in the European agricultural sector project funded by European Union Horizon 2020 Framework Program for Research and Innovation.
The exchanges of both days were truly enriched by the active participation of the diversity of stakeholders (farmers’ organizations, civil society organisations, health institutions, private enterprises, legal experts, etc;) participating at the roundtable.
In this video, Claudia Paltrinieri talks about FoodInsider, an Italian network (consisting of parents, journalists, canteens, communities, cooks, parents, academics, etc. ) focused on healthy and sustainable food and municipal catering.
Foodinsider opened a national-scale debate about school canteen service, firmly grounded on objective data, and allowed people to make comparisons among different catering models and highlight the best menus and the best school canteens according to health and sustainability.
