We are into our second week of self-isolating at Lake Texoma’s Thousand Trails. This one pot italian sausage pasta meal may be quick and easy (15 minutes or less), but it’s got all the flavor you are looking for in a pasta. Great for a quick meal when you need to Get Up and Get Out. Even though we aren’t doing much of that lately.
We are calling it the Get Up & Get Out Easy Italian Sausage Pasta One-Pot Meal.
You’ll need: oil, seasonings (italian, garlic salt, salt and pepper), ready pasta by Barilla of your choice, italian sausage, pasta sauce, and parmesan cheese.
Directions: In a large skillet, add a couple tablespoons of olive oil and then season the oil with Italian seasoning and garlic salt. Cook your italian sausage all the way through. Add the pasta to the skillet. Add more oil and seasonings including salt and pepper here if you feel like it needs it. Let that sit for a minute, covered if you have a dome. It you don’t, it’ll be fine uncovered. Add your pasta sauce and let it heat through for about two minutes. You’re just trying to heat the sauce basically. Serve and top with parmesan cheese. (Note: You can add fresh garlic or garlic powder instead of garlic salt if you prefer. You can also boil regular spagetti before adding it, but that will add to the time, and it will require another pot. We were trying to make this a one pot fast meal for easier clean up.)
