If Brussels thinks it can take liberties with Italy during this crisis, then they’re in for a big biting shock!
The way that the Northern EU27 member states are treating those to the South, especially Italy, that have suffered so much during this worldwide health crisis, leads one to believe that Brussels is paying little or no heed to the risk of eurozone financial rules being broken by an errant state, or even of a heavyweight net contributor withdrawing from the eurozone and even following the UK out the EU exit door.
It seems to me that Eurocrats are making a potentially fatal mistake in underestimating the strength of feeling in Italy.
A strength of feeling that could lead to an Italian referendum and a hot headed Italex!
Right now there are stories of Italian workers being on their financial knees with nothing to spend and nothing coming in. Many relying on food parcels.
