The Colombian Army handed out bags of food to residents in impoverished areas of Southern Bogota, as Colombia remains under a mandatory lockdown on Wednesday, April 8.
The program is a joint initiative from the Army and private humanitarian organizations, Foundation Arturo Calle and Suma Foundation.
Soldiers delivered 1,000 bags of provisions door to door and gave them out in the streets, but the organizations say that there are around 100 tons of stocks in aid to be delivered in Bogota in the coming days.
The Colombian government announced harsh sanctions to people breaking the lockdown during Easter holidays, but the measure is in place since March 24.
