Today, we are flying to Italy where my sister, Corinna, will show you how to make an easy and delicious panna cotta. Follow her simple instructions and you will be the best panna cotta maker in town!
Panna Cotta (Cooked Cream) – Italian Food Easy Peasy
INGREDIENTS (for 10 to 12 small cups)
For the panna cotta
1/2 liter of whipping crea,
80 gr of caster or icing sugar
8 gr of gelatine – equivalent to either 3-4 leaves or 1 envelope of powder
1 vanilla bean or 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
For the topping
250 gr of fresh strawberries
150 gr of dark chocolate
PREPARATION
Pour the cream, sugar and vanilla in a small pan and cook it at low heat until it boils.
When it starts boiling, turn the heat off. Add the softened gelatine leaves or powder (previously dissolved in a small cup of hot water). Stir until the gelatine is completely melted.
Prepare a few silicon molds or plastic/glass cups or glasses. Pour the liquid panna cotta in the molds/cups/glasses.
Place the cups in the fridge for at least 5 hours.
Remove from the fridge. Remove each single portion from the silicon mold (or leave in the cups), place it on a plate and garnish. You can use fresh strawberries, fresh raspberries, melted dark chocolate. Alternatively, if you have frozen berries, you can cook them with sugar until the soften, blend them to make a smooth sauce and then, when it’s cool, use the sauce to garnish the panna cottas!
BUON APPETITO! 🙂
