How to make the cheapest pita dough ever.
This is one of the cheapest pita dough I have ever made…No yeast, no baking powder…Just flour, salt, water, a little bit of olive oil and some spices…The filling is up to you…We like many combinations, like: ham and mozzarella, just mozzarella, cheese and dill, cheese and dill and red onion, cheese and spring onion, etc…You can fill them as you like…The result can not be less than delicious 🙂

Ingredients:
500 g flour
300 ml boiling water
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
black pepper and chili flakes for taste
~ 8 tsp oil for frying

The filling:
100 g ham
150 g mozzarella
100 g cheese
1 bond of fresh dill
1 small red onion
1/4 red bell pepper
( you can add whatever you want…spring onion tastes good also )

Add the flour in a bowl, the salt, sprinkle some black pepper and chili flakes, add the olive oil and above all add the boiling water.
Mix the ingredients, pour it on the working table and knead until you create a dough.
Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
Then, divide it in 8 equal parts. Stretch each part as much as you can with the help of a rolling pin, fill it with what you like ( don’t add too much, or the dough will break on sides ), roll it and stretch it again with the rolling pin.
Each pita bread should have around 15 cm diameter.
Cook on medium to low heat, by turning it on each side, until brown spots appear.

Enjoy!
