Sarah Arnold has operated Tidewater Grill for several years, serving up seafood and steak to hundreds of diners.

Now she is preparing to open a second restaurant – one that is different from the North Myrtle Beach spot and other restaurants found along the Grand Strand.

“We wanted to do a completely different concept that wasn’t ready available in Myrtle Beach,” Arnold said.

Fata di Mano, which means “made by hand” in Italian, is expected to open at the beginning of October, Arnold said. The upscale casual restaurant, located at 1008 Highway 17 S in North Myrtle Beach, will serve handmade pastas such as a long flat noodle with ragu and filled pastas.

The menu also will include a different take on the classic chicken parmesan, 40-ounce porterhouse steak and mozzarella served table side, Arnold said.

The concept behind Fata di Mano

Arnold said the concept is to “create everything by hand” as much as possible and to provide a nice restaurant in the Myrtle Beach area that will “expand the palate a little bit.”

The inspiration for the new restaurant, which will only serve dinner, came from restaurants in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Arnold said.

Restaurants in that coastal area are “nice and innovative,” Arnold said.

Arnold is still working on the final menu which she hopes to reveal soon.
