I found some rock fish for cheap at the store and decided lets make a stew. Cioppino originates how we know it from San Francisco which is an Italian American fish stew and also is related to various regional fish soups and stews from the Italian cuisine. It was made from the catch of the day and if a fisherman came back empty handed they would go around and get scraps from other fishermen making the stew. These days you will find it in restaurants around San Francisco charging you upwards of $40 for a bowl. Now that we are stuck at home I will be doing more quick and easy meals with whats in my pantry while we wait out this crisis.
