Hello,
I’m Culver City Mayor Meghan Sahli-Wells with an important update on new mandatory closures and restrictions that will protect our community from the spread of the Coronavirus or COVID-19.
As Culver City’s Director of Emergency Services, and in coordination with the Cities of Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Malibu, our City Manager has issued the following Public Order:
Effective 11:59 PM tonight, March 16th, bars, lounges and nightclubs that do not serve food; movie theaters, live performance venues; bowling alleys, arcades; gyms and fitness centers; art, dance and music studios; cultural venues and facilities, and indoor recreational facilities will temporarily close to the public – with limited exceptions.
Additionally, restaurants, bars, lounges and nightclubs that serve food are prohibited from offering dine-in services, but may continue to offer food via delivery, takeout, or drive-through.
For establishments offering any of these pick-up options, proprietors must establish social distancing practices for their patrons in line for pick-up. This means a minimum of 6 feet of distance between patrons is required.
The only exceptions to these restrictions are:
Cafeterias within hospitals, nursing homes and similar facilities, pharmacies, and food banks.
As well as grocery stores – it’s important to know there’s no shortage of food or interruption of our food supply, so please don’t panic purchase
The restrictions will be effective through March 31, 2020, unless extended.
Lastly, houses of worship are to limit large gatherings on their premises and observe social distancing practices.
And no landlord shall evict a residential tenant in the City of Culver City during this period of local emergency, if the tenant is able to show an inability to pay rent due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s up to every single one of us to step up in this moment and help our Culver City community to be safe. Thank you for doing your part.
