Trade and Industry Minister Chan Chun Sing on Tuesday (Mar 17) said Singapore has contingency plans in place to deal with a disruption of food supplies from Malaysia. This comes after Malaysia announced that it will bar citizens from going overseas and foreigners from entering for about 2 weeks from Mar 18.
Said Mr Chan: “While we may have to make some adjustments to our choices, we do have sufficient food supplies for all Singaporeans, so long as we buy responsibly.”
Mr Chan also said companies that are seeking temporary accommodation for their Malaysian workers can contact Singapore’s economic agencies and work with their trade associations. READ:
